Hi guys i want my brother to visit me and my husband. He is single, currently working, he has 2 weeks vacation but his boss does not want to give letter of employment. Is it ok to apply without letter of employment? He has pay stub, would that be ok instead? He had history as a visitor in the us for 2 months. I am going to make an invitation letter too. And will provide my bank statement as i will support him during his stay in canada. Will this be enough? If not, what are the other things he need?

IMO, it's not advisable to apply without the leave approval letter that would state he will have his job when he returns + other evidence of his employment ties.

Employment is an active tie to return to the home country. He must prove his employment ties if he wants a favorable TRV decision.

Why does his employer not want to give this letter?

Not okay. He must also include his tax returns + 4-6 months' bank statement to prove salary deposits + evidence of any other work commitments.

He had history as a visitor in the us for 2 months.
Depending on the passport he holds, he could be eligible for CAN+ processing.

Your financials are supplementary. He must prove he can afford the visit and airfare with his own finances.

A detailed day-by-day plan with expense estimates will also help to prove a well-thought purpose of visit.

1. Does he own property or land?

2. Does he live with other dependent family members? Parents, grandparents, unmarried siblings?

3. Has he traveled to visa-required countries (US, UK, Schengen, Australia, NZ)?

4. What other ties can he prove? Member of a sports club, volunteering, part-time studies, etc?
