Good news: Just got my new visitor record in the mail; my visitor extension request went through and was approved for a whopping 14 months! Woo-hoo!
Spin-off Question: If I go back to the USA (US Citizen) for a few weeks, I think the standard procedure for a visitor record is to have to hand it back at the gate. So, if I make a copy of the VR and present it when I attempt to re-enter Canada, does anyone know if Border Services will take the previously-granted permission into account? Ultimately, I'm wondering if there would be any chance at all of the Border Agents reinstating my permission to stay the full 14 months, or if the best I can hope for at the border is the usual 6.
