Hello All,

I am a PR holder. I arrived last year. I want to arrange for my parents to come and visit me. I know the super visa is a much better option but i have to pay for everything my self and the medical insurance it too expensive. so i'm thinking of applying for a visitor's visa for them instead. and also they only want to come and stay for like two weeks. and it's cheaper. So does it matter if i applied for a visitor's visa instead of a Super Visa? is there any chance of one visa being approved more than the other?
my father is a syrian citizen btw and my mother is jordanian.

It's really your choice if you apply for a super visa or regular visitor visa for your parents. If you decide on the regular TRV, you should still buy medical insurance to cover them while they are in Canada. You'll want to cover them for emergencies in case something happens (since costs can be astronomically high if you're uninsured).

Would warn you that your father may really struggle to get a visa if he is Syrian. He will need to show very strong ties to Syria or wherever he is living. Did you arrive as a refugee or did other family members get asylum around the world? If you can't afford medical insurance, you won't be able to afford a 100K+ medical bill so it is even more important for you to take out travel medical insurance.

No. I came as a PR on Express Entry.
I see what you are saying. I will have to try I guess. It's his nationality. We can't change that.
Thank you for your advise.
