Visitor Visa

I applied for visitor visa using paper since July 31 through vfs in nigeria and have not received any update till today. I wrote to the High Commission on August 16 asking for an update and i received an email today informing that my biometric information is still valid till July 2026. Does anone know what this means please?
I am travelling for my son's graduation in October but do not know whether the visa is approved or not to enable me buy tickets for my travel. I need anybody's advise on how to approach this please.

If your already made an inquiry on http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp , nothing to do but wait.
Biometrics is really valid for 10 years. It means in case you need to re-apply for a visa, you don't need to pay and submit another Biometrics since its validity is 10 years.
