Hi members,

I am currently on visitor visa expiring on first week of May,My fiance got his PR approval last week and still awaiting PR card .We are planning to do registered marriage in Canada on May 24th,2019.
To support my application I will be attaching Marriage license which will have intended date of marriage along with letter of explanation.

Since I need to file my visitor visa extension ,would these documents be sufficient to support my case?

Kindly advice.

No, marriage license itself is not sufficient at all, you cannot use it for spousal relationship.

Hi

Yes, you can show that. If your plan is spousal sponsorship, I would also suggest you pay the full $1040 PR fees and include that receipt to show you are serious.

It is fine to show it as a reason for an extension.

I probably misunderstood that she is using it for family class application in lieu of marriage certificate. It is fine if it is intended for visitor visa extension.

Hi NehaK123,

When are you planning to apply for visitor visa extension?

Thank you everyone for your reply.
I am planning to submit my application for visitor visa extension one week prior to my visa expiry.

It is recommended to do at least a month before its expiry. Since you are on Visitors Visa also extend your medical coverage to be safe from any unforseen health conditions.
