Can you look for work whilst on a holiday visa?

I have family in Canada so i would have accommodation during my 6 months stay.

Also, are you allowed to do work experience whilst you are on a holiday visa?
My cousin owns his own graphic design firm so it could be a great excuse to learn the ropes whilst I'm there and maybe get a job at the end which would allow me to return with a job offer as a skilled worker.

1. You can look, but without an approved Labour Market Opinion and a work permit, you can't start work.
