I've sent in the application for my husband's PR in early Feb. I haven't received an AOR yet. Is it possible for my husband to apply for a visitor visa to Canada to meet me in the interim? Will this interfere with his PR application?

Sometimes they will approve the visitor's visa and other times they may refuse it. It never harms the case and should they accept it, it makes the case stronger. Best of luck to you both.

Thank you! Do you suggest we wait to apply until we get the AOR our can we apply straight away?

You can always submit an application. There is nothing stopping anyone from doing that.

No

Now... the real question is.... will you get it?

The answer depends on each case specifics. Basically you have to prove that he does not intend to join you in Canada and stay until he gets his PR. Both have made it clear he wants to move to Canada when the PR is given so now CIC needs to be convinced he doesn't just want to have a 2 year visit while he is approved.

How can I make it clear that this will be a visit while we are waiting? Obviously he will be moving here for good after the PR.

Please post this in the Visitor's forum. Provide your specifics as it all depends on them.
