Visitor visa VS OWP

My quick question:

I obtained my Open Work Permit ( one year) last month when I entered Canada by using Visitor Visa ( 6 months). Now Do I need to extend my Visitor Visa before it expired?

Hi Tommy,

I don't think it is necessary to extend your visitor visa. Your OWP is valid TR document.

I do have a question, however, how long were you in Canada before applying for your OWP?

I also have the same question.. did you have to be in Canada while applying for the Open Work Permit?

After I submitted my PR application, I submitted my OWP in Canada last Nov. Then I got my OWP in May this year. I filled all the forms by myself, medical report etc. fee receipt.

I setup my GCKey account and apply online, all document are thru web portal, easy and fast.
