Hello,

I am recently divorced (no kids) and willing only to visit my family in Canada for a short period of time. I am not working at the moment. I don't have any other relatives in my home country. Please provide me some tips for the visitor visa application. Thanks.

Hello,

1. How are you related to your Canadian host?

2. How long do you intend to visit? Purpose of your visit?

3. Have you traveled to other visa-required countries (US, UK, Schengen, Australia, NZ, etc)?

4. Do you own property or land? Do you have a good financial situation? Credit cards? How do you support yourself financially?

1. How are you related to your Canadian host? - My sister, her family and mother

2. How long do you intend to visit? Purpose of your visit? - Visiting family members for 2-3 weeks

3. Have you traveled to other visa-required countries (US, UK, Schengen, Australia, NZ, etc)? - Only Denmark for 2 weeks 2 years ago

4. Do you own property or land? Do you have a good financial situation? Credit cards? How do you support yourself financially? - I have a good financial situation; Divorce settlement savings (I have all the required docs); No credit card.

With no family in your home country, you risk being refused for having strong family ties to Canada.

Unfortunately, IRCC will possibly not believe that you want to visit for 2-3 weeks because you have no reasons to return to your home country.

Okay

4. Do you own property or land? Do you have a good financial situation? Credit cards? How do you support yourself financially? - I have a good financial situation; Divorce settlement savings (I have all the required docs); No credit card.
No credit cards = Your credit worthiness has not been established

Your finances are from your divorce alimony. Not sure if you were granted a one-time alimony or if you will receive alimony every month through the court.

You don't have any reasons to return to your home country i.e. no dependent family members, no employment or study ties, no property or land ownership, no finances, etc.

In short:
You would be risking a TRV refusal. IMO, you must first look for a job and work for at least 8-10 months to establish your ties before you apply for a TRV

Thanks for the amazing tips. I will look into it. Do you have any day by day travel plan sample for Canada?
