Hello All,
My sister just arrived in Toronto as a visitor, She's 52 y/o. She is a midwife and has Caregiver certificate from Philippines. Hoping to get her a WP but I am having a hard time looking for someone to sign her. I was planning to apply for LMIA myself so I can sponsor her as a caregiver to my 10y/o daughter who has a disability/ADD. My Family income is around 145k/year. Question is do you think I would qualify as her employer? What documents she needs to have to be qualified as a caregiver? Many thanks for those who can help :)

If you live in Ontario then she must apply through the HCCP program. You cannot hire her through a LMIA. It opens on January 1 and is based on quotas and it closes the same day. So she needs to be eligible (ECA, lanaguage) and you need to be eligible (income, business registration). Once her application is in processing is around 3 years and if hiring a family member, the application is more heavily scrutinized.
