Hi all, my issue is two fold

1- They changed the rule so the order of the names has to be different now to match passport. Our middle name isn't considered a middle name anymore. VFS office told me to submit a web form to change the names.

2-I could have submitted a web form but I did not add email address to their application. Everytime I use the web form to update information , it asked for an email address (required field). Since there is no email address tied to the form, anything I entered is considered incorrect and they sent me this

"Please note that the email address you used is not authorized for this application. Due to Canadian privacy laws, we cannot share any information—including confirming the existence of an application—without written consent from the applicant. If you are the applicant, please contact us using the email address listed on your application.

To authorize access to application information, the applicant must submit the Release of Information to an Individual form and a copy of their passport bearing signature via this the IRCC Webform: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...ms-guides/release-information-individual.html

To submit any documentation or request any changes to an application, the applicant must submit via this IRCC webform:

• A completed Use of Representative (IMM 5476) form with wet ink signature: https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/ircc/migration/ircc/english/pdf/kits/forms/imm5476e.pdf

• A copy of their passport showing their wet ink signature

If the applicant is a minor, you must submit:

• A completed Use of Representative (IMM 5476) form signed by the parent/legal guardian with wet ink signature.

• Passport copy with parent/legal guardian’s wet ink signature

The Use of Representative (IMM 5476) form allows the applicant to appoint or cancel a representative/contact, or to designate themselves as their own representative.

We cannot respond to further inquiries from this email address until the required documents are submitted. The email and any attachments will not be retained and must be resubmitted via the IRCC Webform: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/contact-ircc/web-form.html

Sincerely,"

Does that mean that they're updating it and not corresponding to me, or they're not taking this inquiry because of the email address?

Thank you for your time

Posting under US section of the forum so they are living in the US and applying from there. Post under visitor section including whether you are the representative.

You say "i submitted" so when they submitted, did they fill out IMM5476 and authorize you as their representative? Is it their email or your email? If, you are not their representative then they filed on their own without your assistance. So you cannot make any changes to their file or send a webform.

Side question, if for some reason you did not include an email in the application, is there no way to ammend it after? Every webform asked for it.

All correspondence goes to the address via mail. How did you set up an account? Did you fill out the form for a parent without their authorization.

They used my account to submit, but in their actual application they never filled out email address so no email address was tied to their application, making changes impossible.

To anyone reading, this is what I did and it seemed to fix the issue on IRCC website. I called IRCC.

I went to the web form->update information->Appoint new representative. In the forms, I uploaded filled out form imm5476, passport, biometric receipts, and an explanation letter that because there is no email address, I'm submitting this form to appoint this person as representative and in the same letter asked for a name change.

Thanks for your time!
