Visitor visa for fiancee

I’m from India, engaged and am moving to Canada in Dec.
Planning on applying visitor visa for my finance.
1. What do I need to do to ensure the visa is not rejected? She can show about 5000 cad as bank balance and has a job that she has been working for 5 Years in india
2. How long does the process take? Site shows 40 days.. is this right?

1. There is no way to guarantee the visa will be approved. However to have the higest chance, she should show strong ties to her home country such as proof of employment, property ownership (if applicable) and funds to pay for her trip to Canada. A bank balance of $5,000 is a bit on the low side but if that's what she has it will have to do. I assume you're asking for a trip of a few weeks and not a few months. Her chances of being approved will increase if she can show previous travel to countries requiring visas such as the US or UK.
2. 40 days is an estimate and not a guaranteed processing time. We have seen many here wait a few months. So be prepared for the possibility it may take a few months.
