I recently applied for my son visitor visa extension (IMM 5708E) via post application, my son is living with me in Toronto. When we arrived his passport was expiring in Aug 2018 ; so we were advised by port of entry to apply for visitor extension when his new passport is created, my Work permit is expiring in Oct 2018.
I applied for his by post application by sending all documents to Alberta office , 7 days before his visitor visa expiry. and received a courier notification(only) that it is delivered.
Now before my work permit expiry , my company wants to apply for my work permit extension and they are asking for my kids valid visitor permit or application number details of existing extension application till Oct 2018 (which I don not have). And I have received no intimation yet on my application and period is 100 days which I understood now.
I was filling online application for his extension but helpline agent on phone suggested since he is 5 year old we should submit only by post application. Which seems like a big mistake that I did and I believe its not correct information that we got ; that for minor kid online application is not allowed. Someone can comment to it.
In my situation, I need help to understand what are the alternatives that I have now -
1- Can I file an online application over to paper application submitted already , knowing that his visitor visa will be shown as expired now in the online application ?
2- Can on implied status on someone, which I am yet to get confirmation also for him -> another visitor visa application can be given for him along with my work permit extension application ?
I am really worried , as without applying his new extension application after Oct with my work permit extension, he cannot stay in Canada -> and he is so small that he cant travel alone which means my entire dependents have to travel.
I am trying all possible ways to get his application status -> calling on IOCC helpline, sending mail request etc, but no luck, so I am posting here.
I really need some suggestion to get out of the current situation ?
