Visitor visa extension while super visa application in process?

Hello,

I am planning to apply to for super visa for my parents from India. The current processing time is more than 400 days. My parents have a valid visitor's visa. I have a few questions:

1) Can my parents visit me on the visitor visa while super visa application is in process?

2) Can I apply for visitor visa extension when they are in Canada while super visa application is in process?

2. Yes

They will need to leave Canada to initiate the Supervisa. Supervisa or TRV doesn’t allow for them to live in Canada so extensions are not guaranteed. They will need to return at a certain point.
