Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
my visitor's visa is expiring on Oct 28 and I'm hoping to submit my application for sponsorship as soon as i get my marriage certificate. question, can i submit for an extension for my visitor visa before submitting my sponsorship application? what are the chances of getting denied? i was thinking of telling them that il be submitting my sponsorship application soon but i dont have proof to show them that i'm really submitting it asap!

You could pay the fees for the spousal application and give them a copy of the receipt as well as explaining why you are waiting. It might work.

Just curious but where are you that it will take more than 2 months to get your marriage certificate issued? I'm assuming you've already applied for it?

Yes you can, likleyhood of getting denied is unlikley as long as you convince the officer in your application that you will leave when the visa expires or your application is refused. Get the PR app in asap and hopefully when it comes to processing your extension they will see that you have filed for PR. Where are you getting your marriage cert from?

Ok i see from your other post you were married IN canada. Just go to statistics canada building and get one issued right there and then takes 10 minutes

The fees receipt is proof enough that you are submitting a PR ap - but only if you can prove that you are an eligible applicant with a copy of the marriage certificate or Record of Solemnization. If you're not going to be married before you can submit the application to extend, there really aren't grounds to extend.

Theyre already married. Just goto to statistics canada building pay fee show ID takes 10 minutes to get the cert

Hi!

Could you give ideas on how to prove this? I will have to extend my stay soon, living with my husband with a visitor visa and I don't have anything to go back to my home country to (used to live with my parents, already graduated from college, no job offer..)

Your husband is canadian cit or canadian PR? If so get the PR app in, if the app is in and you are from a visa exempt country shouldnt be a problem. If you're not from visa expemt country best chances of getting extension approved is to file inland application for PR. Then on your visitor extension all i ever said for reason to extend was simply "To live with my wife and children whilst we await out come of inland fmaily sponsorship application" Alot depends on your circumstances, maybe give us a bit more info and one of us can give you a more conculsive answer. There's never any set amount of proof, some officers are fine with the statement, some can ask for proof you will leave. It heavily depends on where you are from. Its rare people from visa expempt countries have any great problems getting an extension unless there's something to make them flag the application.

Hi!

My husband is a canadian citizen. I'm not from a visa exempt country, but I have a multiple entry visa valid for 5 years. I wonder if I had my extension rejected, could I cross to the USA and come back in? (I have a visa to enter the USA too).

Thanks for your reply!

If you have a multiple entry visa this shouldnt be a problem from what i understand, but i'd have to defer this question to PMM or Leon to give you a better answer regarding multiple entry visa as i'm not sure what requirements go with this having never had one.

I'm from non-visa exempt country too. In my understanding, multiple visa will allow you to travel to Canada more than once during the period of visa but it doesn't mean it will guarantee that you can re-enter Canada by just crossing the boarder. It really all depends on the immigration officer at the boarder or airport.

Hi!

Thanks for your answers!
Maybe I should have made my own topic for this question, I hope it didn't look rude (sorry if it did, I didn't mean to :( )..

I understand that it would depend on the border immigration officiant to let me back in, I was just wondering if they wouldn't based on my stay extension rejection, as if they could look up in a system and see I have just been refused the extension and consequently refusing my entry.

can i submit my application for visa extension together with my spousal sponsorship application?
