Hi guys, I am in Canada for 5 months and 10 days now, my visitor visa ends on the 29th of December. Is it now too late to ask for extensions because CIC web site indicate it should be done 30 days before it expires.
My wife has NS PNP for skilled workers and we are about to apply for permanent residency but I want to stay in Canada. We tried to go on border for flag poling but officer refused to give us work permits...

No - it's not too late. The 30 days is just a guideline. As long as your extension application is received by CIC before your current visit expires - you'll be fine.

no! You are fine to extend until Dec 29. (I have done the same!)
well hopefully you present the necessary documents that will justify your extension, for the second term, they will require you to have medical exam before approving your TRV- extension But just wait for upfront request.
Also, make sure you photocopy the proof of mail for your reference.
Make a good cover letter to explain your part.
God Bless you as you prepare your (hopefully online application) file.
