1. Does anyone know what sort of information is needed to get a visitors visa?
2. How much it is?
3. How long will it take to be approved to have a visitors visa?
4. Should we apply for a extention as well as a work permit at the same time?

All the info. you need is right here....: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/index.asp

what infomation needs to be in the letter to invite someone when they are applying for a visa?

Take a look at this older discussion..

Hey KSCM..

You may need declaration from your employer, stating that u r currently working for him/it.
A bank statement.
A hotel reservation, if any.
In regard to the invitation letter, the inviter may indicate his status in Canada along with his social security info. and/or full address.

I'm really not sure how much it costs now.
It would take a day max. (u may have to have an interview before issuing it to u).

You may not be able to extend it since it's ur first time to travel to Canada.

Work permit is a whole different process.

Wish you a happy stay in Canada.

thanks..
I was reading the visa process and it says that he will need to show that he will be returning to Egypt and not stay in canada after his visa expires..what do you put down if he is not working in egypt and does not want to return there.. do I send a letter to invite him along with his other documents.
I was also told to apply for an visa extension and work permit at the same time we appy for a visa to avoid any delays and the possibility of him having to return to Egypt , how can we do that is they want to see that he will be returning to egypt?? kinda confusing.... not sure what way we need to go. I'm so scared to make a move incase it is wrong and there will be a delay..
please tell me if this process is correct so I understand everything..

-He applies for a visa in Egypt if approved he comes to Canada at the same time he applies for a extension and work permit.
-we get married in canada while he is here on a visitors visa.
-we apply for PR through a family sponsorship.
- if his PR is not approved during the visa timeline then either the extension kicks in or he goes back to Egypt to wait out the PR approval or we apply for outland and wait for PR approval that way.
please let me know if anything is not correct as we are getting close to starting the process and very nervous.
thank you so much

KSCM..

What you're saying is confusing and not right.

-To apply for a visitor visa, he must show ties to his country & convince the embassy officer that he will be back to Egypt before visa expiry date.
This is a vital point to show, otherwise his visitor visa will be denied cause the embassy will consider it an illegal way to stay in Canada.

-To such ties, he should be working in Egypt and provide evidence of that in form of employer letter.

-He may be required to provide bank statement as an additional evidence that he will be back, and that he can afford the travel/stay during his visiting period to Canada.

-You cannot apply for "extension" while applying for visitor visa. Its name implies it.."extension"..so it should be after visiting visa expiry. Again, visa extension is subject to assessment that he will be back after its expiry as well.

-Work permit is a whole different procedure. It has nothing to do with visitor visa. It may require a employment offer that's subject to assessment as well, to verify the need for such "talent" in Canada.

Hope this is much clearer for u now.

If I send a invitation letter when he is applying for a visitors visa and state that he will be staying with me and I will be finacially responsible for him and he knows that he must return to egypt fi he does not get an extensio, does he still need to show a bank record and a letter from his employer?
