Do you think If the submit application beginning October they can make it for Christmas?
Processing is around 71 days so they may get a response by then, but that doesn’t include biometrics, sending passport if approved. Travel history is to UK, US, NZ and AUS. How many people and ages of children? How long is visit? Their funds must show that they can afford to come to Canada without using all their money.

They will be coming from Sri Lanka. 2 person ( sister and husband) and 2 children aged 13 and 11. They are willing to stay 3 months. They are financially steady.

Three months for a family of 4? That is not visiting. How much are they showing…$50-60K? High chance of refusal with that length of visit because how can they show ties to return. Two to three week visit over the holidays is a good length.

Given the state of the economy in Sri Lanka, the fact that they have minimal travel history, that the whole family want travel and wants to stay for a long period of time the chances of refusal are very high. How are they receiving authorization for leave from their jobs to be away for 3 months? Are the children on school holiday during the whole 3 month period? Are they trying to remain in Canada? How long have you lived in Canada? How did you get PR or citizenship? Do your parents have a visitor visa or are they PRs/citizens of Canada? Are they currently in Canada? Do you have any other siblings and where do they live? Has your sister and her family ever tried to immigrate or study/work abroad in Canada or elsewhere?

Yes the children have 3 months holiday from December. We are Canadian citizens. I was born here. He will have his vacation leave from work. And will have to return. 3 months is the maximum but it can be shortened depending on the circumstances.

How did you get citizenship but your sibling didn’t? Were your parents studying/working in Canada temporarily?Did they apply for asylum but get rejected? Where did you grow up and when did you live in Canada? Do you have any other siblings and where do they live and are they Canadian citizens! Do your parents have any status in Canada and if they have TRVs have they spent money time in Canada. 3 months vacation will be hard to believe for a a VO unless a teacher. 1 month vacation is a much more typical length of vacation permitted by employers. They would have to show significant savings to show that they can travel abroad for 3 months and also keep paying for their life in Sri Lanka.

What is the is amount to be shown in the bank for them?
3 months…is not a visit. They don’t decide how long they will stay. CBSA decides on port of entry. You can invite them to stay with you but you are not sponsoring them. If they want to stay 3 months then $50-60k. Read through threads on this forum. People are refused TRVs based on funds with $20k+ for two people and only a 3 week visit.

I was born here. We are sponsoring my husband's sister and her family. He got citizenship after applying for it.
Are your husband’s parents in Canada or do there have a visa to visit Canada? Have they spent time in Canada? If so there will be concern that the whole family is trying to remain in Canada. There is no exact amount but if they don’t own a home in Sri Lanka and don’t have other ties then it would not be advisable to ask for a 3 month stay. Would suggest 3-4 weeks max.
