My mom is with us here in Canada through tourist visa. Now we want to invite my dad who currently lives in Sri Lanka right now. He stayed in America for 4 years as a refugee. Will this affect our application for him?

1. I am assuming that he claimed refugee status, but didn't receive it and was removed from the US. If that is true, it is unlikely that he would be issued a TRV.

Still extremely slim, you may have cancelled the application, but his immigration history is still in the system
And you can “ attempt “ to sponsor patents once the program reopens , there’s no guarantee
More than likely your father back home was the tie for your mother to get her visa to visit
If your father visits , then what tie is left for their home country ?
Plus you claimed refugee here

No such thing as sponsorship but you can invite them for Christmas. They need to show their own funds, travel history and ties to Sri Lanka. They should apply ASAP if they want a response by Christmas.

What if they don't have travel history?
