Hi I'm applying for a visitor extension to meet common law sponsorship and live together for a year straight. I'm really nervous about being refused because I only have 1,100 Canadian dollar for funds. My girlfriend is a full time student at York university in Toronto and she doesn't have a lot either. Her parents are willing to support and have written a letter stating they will support me, but I've read many threads saying their visitor extension has been refused and I'm scared the same will happen to me.

You have to be the one proving financial capability. Not your parents or hers, you.

Extensions for the purpose of becoming common-law are very rarely refused. Don't stress.

It's perfectly fine to show that his girlfriend's parents are supporting him.

I trust what you are saying is correct. My mother wanted me to come home and go back in a week or two but I feel like if I'm taken into secondary for any reason they will refuse me entry.
