Hello all,

Just had a quick question hoping someone can clear this with me I been in Canada for 5 months so far and wanting to extend it, I have a United States passport that's stamped when entered, was wondering if I'm able to extend my stay?

yes of course. it's recommended to do it at least 30 days before your stay ends. people prefer to do it online. the cost might have gone up to $150 this year, though i'm not sure if that's been confirmed.

considering you are going on 5 months, i would suspect that is right around now. was there an exit date written on the stamp or is it just an entry stamp?

Awesome that's great to hear, the only date stamped on it though is the time i entered, and just to be clear
I do sign the paper IMM5708E, because under Coming to Canada Question 4. asks for a digit code which i do not have since i come from the US, and i believe its still 100$ at least that's what is says on the page

there are plenty of threads about filling out the application. i am not familiar with the specifics. since there is an entry date, assume your status expires 6 months from that date, so make sure to get your application in before then. good luck!
