Hi - I am confused and need some guidance. I have lived together with my Canadian boyfriend for 2 years abroad (in the Middle East, in a country where living with a boyfriend is illegal) and I came to know that under Canadian laws we are common law partners. We will travel together to Canada this summer and I will apply for the temporary resident visa. My dilemma is whether our union, being not legal in the place where we currently live, will affect my application or if I mention that I will accompany him and that he is Canadian will somehow trouble my application, which I really don't want as our trip is purely touristic. Any guidance here? shall I reveal in my application my status, etc.??
