Hi all,. I am Australian, my wife is Canadian. We have been married for 10 years and living in Australia. We intend to move to Canada to live and I have applied for permanent residency.

My wife is moving to Canada in the next few weeks and I have just lodged my PR application a few weeks ago. Would I be able to travel to Canada with her in a few weeks time and stay with her for a few months while I am waiting for my PR application to process. I intend to stay with her for a while, then go travelling in the USA and Europe for a few months as I am between jobs. After this travel I would return back to Australia and stay with family until my PR is approved.
Will I have any troubles entering Canada as I have a PR application in process

many thanks

no - you should be fine. Just make sure that you don't say that you're moving to Canada. Bring with you the proof that you are leaving the country, and if asked, explain your plan.
Quite a few people from visa-exempt country go to Canada to wait out the process with their spouses without issues, and very few are given some trouble at the border. As long as it doesn't look like you're moving to Canada permanently, you'll be OK. If you want to stay a bit longer, just be prepared ( as you're visa-exempt you won't have to send your passport to the embassy so you could stay in Canada and not come back to Australia if you wanted).
Good luck,
Sweden
