Visiting Canada Using TRV with Category W1

Hello,

I am a H1B worker who lives in the US. My company sponsored a Canadian work permit and a TRV for me, because I had to work out of their Canadian office for a while. However, the idea was cancelled and I didn't have to visit the Canadian office. I now want to visit Canada to get my H1B stamped. Can I use the unexpired TRV to visit Canada, though the category in the TRV stamping says W1?

Is the TRV expired?

No it is not. It is valid until 2018. The category says "W1"

If the TRV is still valid then you can travel to Canada.
