I am planning to attend a medical conference in Canada with my wife and children. For the same i will be applying for a tourist visa with Canadian embessay. Now i have already applied for canadian immigration and my application is in process. My question is since i have applied for canadian immigration would cause my tourist visa application to be denied since my immigration is in process, are there some points i need to take care of?

There are chances that the visa officer (VO) might refuse your TRV application since your immigration application is in process. VO would assume that you would be overstaying.

On the positive side, visa officer might be certain that you will not overstay because you dont want to spoil your immigration dreams. If I were the visa officer, I will take your PR application as a guarantee that you will leave Canada once your visit visa expires.

My sis applied while her PR was in process and she was refused the tourist visa.

I have also heard that they refuse Tourist visa when they come to know your PR is in process, don't really understand the logic.

Most spousal applicants are refused TRVs. Not Skilled Workers.

Hi PMM,

I am from the Philippines, and I am presently residing here in Riyadh with my wife and my son. If I will apply for Canada tourist visa leaving my family here in Riyadh, will it still be refused? Mostly, refusal happens when you cannot convince the visa officer that you do not have enough ties back home. Ties could be your wife, children, parents, properties, current employment, in my case I am working with my current employer here in Riyadh for the past 15 years, besides my wife and my son, my indemnity (service award) is one of the many reasons that I must come back to Saudi Arabia. Not to mention that I do not have any relatives in Canada and I have my under process immigration application.
I am actually planning to visit Canada to attend to job interviews, I have arranged some people to search employment for me in Canada with the agreement that I have to go there once a number of interviews have been set. Your opinion will be appreciated, What are my chances for a tourist visa? Thank you very much.

Hello guys,

I recently came from a vacation to Canada. i had applied for a visit visa from the U.A.E embassy as i stay in Kuwait. i have also applied for my immigration in the FSW class.
First my application was returned as i didn't put a return airways bill so sent it back and finally got my visa for 3 months. Its damn simple process and just remember you have to show your financial statement assets and all other documents which show that you have strong ties in your home country. if any family member is working please include their salary letters so they know you don't face unemployment issues in your home country. Remember to include your itinerary in the application the places you want to visit and the ticket booking just a confirmation so that they know you have valid travel plans. Please arrange your file in a systematic manner so that the visa officer doesn't have problems sorting out documents. Also visit the FAQ's for applying for a visit visa. People who are applying for the first time i would recommend to go for single entry visa as they normally reject multiple entry visa for the first time visitors. Include invitation letter from friends and families whom you plan to visit and if possible attach their PR or passport copies along with it. Remember if any of your family member has been convicted or any crimes or illegal status your visa will be rejected.
I wish all the best, Canada is indeed a beautiful country and after visiting you wil definately love to settle there.

Cheers
Ron

Hello Hronaque,

Thank you very much for sharing. Did you write something in the visit visa application form that you have your PR application which is under process? Reply will be appreciated.
