Wondering if anyone has applied/OR has a spouse who lives in Abu Dhabi and applied for a vistior visa to Canada. My husband applied back in July (15th) and we are waiting to hear back! Do applicants usually hear back within the 4 weeks they tell??

Hi Canada14,

I have applied several times for a visit visa. If you fall under a nationality category that takes 3 weeks then thats the time it will take to process your visa. You should hear from them within that time or keep checking your tracking number every few days to know if your passport has left the embassy!

Hi , Thanks for your reply! Silly question, how would I go about tracking the number, my husband says he only has the receipt for the processing fee ( am currently in Canada and will be returning to AD at the beginning of September, so we where hoping my husband could join me for a few weeks)....do you to know the link their website, am having no luck finding it....your help would be appreciated :)

Usually when you apply for a visit visa they return your passport back through Aramex. So that's the tracking number that could help you track it. The last I read it was in June and it was a must for all citizens and residents of GCC that their passport will be returned back to them via Aramex unless your husband has requested and has his passport on him in that case they will send him an email requesting for the passport when they are ready to issue him the visa.

Hope this helped!

Thanks Again :) My husband applied in person on July 15th and they told him it would take 4 weeks for them to respond . They told him once a decision was made they would contact him for a location for his passport to be sent back to him...and that it would either have a visa stamp on it or it wouldn't. Maybe thats why there is no tracking number on the receipt!!!
