Hi,

I am new to this forum and to the country, needed advise on few things, any advise on my request would be appreciated:

My family (wife, child and myself) landed in Canada as PR in dec 2017 and in Jan 2018 we both got contractual jobs. My wife recently got confirmed as a permanent full time employee with the same organisation. I am still on a contract for 1 year. Our annual income is exceeding the threshold to apply for a super visa for my mother, however i am not sure if I should apply for a visitor visa initially or for a super visa. I am not very sure if it is advisable to apply for a super visa considering that I am just few months old in the country. Also when i think of applying for a visit visa for my mother i have different set of confusion and road blocks...I have been managing the expenses for her back home, as i left sufficient balance in my account for her to take care of her needs. She is a single parent and is not working and has no other source of income due to which she does not have balance in her account to show. She uses my account for her expenditure. Also the house that she is staying in is on joint name with my wife that we bought few years back.

  • I wanted to know if I transfer the money into her account before we apply for a visitor visa (tentative for May or June end) will that be a issue.

  • If i send a sponsorship letter will that work in any case, if yes what should be the content of that letter as per the aforementioned situation.

  • I have my current bank statements, pay stubs, employment letter

  • Should i apply for a super visa instead of visitor visa?

  • What is the probability of my mother getting a visitor visa or super visa

  • What all documents are required by me to be sent to her to apply for the visa and is there anything specific she would need to provide such as cover letter explaining her situation and reason to visit me and her grand child.

  • Does she need to show her social ties in India and if so would she be required to do anything specific for that?

Waiting for suggestions and help on my situation.

Hi,

IMO, the chances of approval for either a super visa or a TRV are slim to none given the circumstances + financial situation of your mom. You would also need to keep in mind that your mom must prove she is short-stay visitor i.e. she is not moving permanently to stay with you.

I wouldn't advise applying for a super visa because you don't have adequate documents to prove you meet LICO as a new immigrant. Also, your mom is unable to demonstrate even minimum ties to her home country.

On the other hand, for a TRV as well, your mom is unable to prove she has some finances + some ties to return to.
1. Does she have a power of attorney to represent you/your wife for the property owned by you?

2. Does she have a power of attorney for any other matters to represent you? Bank? Government-related matters? etc

3. Does she live with any other family members?

4. Has she traveled to any other country such as the US, UK, Schengen countries, Australia, NZ?

5. Does she volunteer for social causes, charity or religious reasons?

Cheers
