Hi,
My visa was rejected after a week of processing time. The reasons were as below;

I am not satisified that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your travel history.

I am not satisified that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.

I had provided all the required documents including my employment letter in current resident country, which is Singapore, and return ticket to Singapore. Duration of the stay is only two weeks.

I mentioned the reason as visiting friend as I do have a friend there and he is taking me around to visit Canada. He is a PR in Canada and I provided copy of his PR card and invitation letter from him.

Can anyone suggest me what other document I should provide if I want to resubmit? My trip date is getting really closer and I need to reapply asap.

Your help would be much appreciated! Thank you.

1. Do post the list of documents that you had submitted

2. Have you traveled to any visa-required countries such as the US, UK, Schengen, Australia, NZ, etc?

3. Purpose of visit refusal ground: This means the visa officer was not convinced that meeting your friend was compelling. That said, are you in a relationship with the friend? Did you include a detailed day-by-day visit plan for your two weeks' holiday along with expense estimates?

4. When does your Singapore immigration status/ Employment Pass expire?

5. What strong ties can you demonstrate to Singapore and your home country?

Hi Bryanna,

Thanks for your reply!

1. I had submitted below documents
-Employment Letter from the company with salary details
-Invitation letter from a friend + his PR copy
-Return ticket with 2 weeks duration
-4 months bank statement with balance 16k
-Employment Pass in Singapore
-Existing passport and 3 old passport (that have proof of travelling around Asia in past 5 years)

2. I have only travelled outside of Asia before.

3. That mean I also need to provide the day to day itinerary of the whole time staying in Canada?

4. My Employment pass is valid until 2021 and i had submitted a proof of that.

5. Can you give me some example? My hometown is Myanmar but I've been in Singapore for about 7 years studying and working.

1. I had submitted below documents
-Employment Letter from the company with salary details
Work contract + tax returns (as applicable) + leave approval letter stating you will have your job when you return + some work commitments to return to with evidence

-Invitation letter from a friend + his PR copy
Are you in a relationship with the friend? The visa officer will question your objectives in traveling to Canada to meet a friend, especially when your past travel has been within Asia.

-Return ticket with 2 weeks duration
It's not advisable to book tickets before visas are issued.

-4 months bank statement with balance 16k
Hope this matches your income.

Any financial investments?

-Employment Pass in Singapore
Okay

-Existing passport and 3 old passport (that have proof of travelling around Asia in past 5 years)
Although travel within Asia would not help, you could submit a Travel History explanation: Tabular format listing visa/visa-exempt details + entry/exit dates + purpose of each visit.

Yes. You must also prove you can afford this visit plan without depending on your friend to financially support you.

4. My Employment pass is valid until 2021 and i had submitted a proof of that.
Okay

You must demonstrate ties to both Myanmar and Singapore. For example, property ownership or a lease agreement (and evidence of paying the rent) + dependent family members + financial investments + any loans/mortgages + credit card statements (if the spending limit is high and your dues are low), any compelling work/personal commitments to return to after your visit, etc
