my wife requires an extension on her NAFTA work permit, with T24 exception (Case Type 20). In the description of that visa online (p 102, of the "FW 1 Temporary Foreign Worker Guidelines" document), it says that if the occupation is manager or executive, 2 year extensions are allowed up to a maximum of 7 years. For specialized knowledge transferees, it says the 2 year extensions are allowed up to a maximum of 5 years
Her current work permit lists her occupation as "Senior Mgrs - Trade Broadcasting". Her original letter stated the request as "Intra-Company transferee, Specialized Knowledge".
so - I don't get it. what is her visa category? she has reached the 5 year mark, and so this is critical - if you go by what her visa says, she's eligible for 7 years. if you read the letter, it says specialized knowledge and implies 5 years.
is she eligible for the 7 years, despite what her letter says (or would say)? the letter needs to sty unchanged per the rules of extension. Help??
