Please suggest what I can change in my SOP as I received refusal for PG certificate - Information systems business analysis
Dear Sir/Madam,
In the complex and interconnected world of international business, the science of information system is increasingly becoming significant.This craving for knowledge pave my way to choose formal education in the field of computer application but my explorative attitude and inquisitive mind now aspire me to gain detailed understanding of how information system empowers business operations. Being a developer, I will be able to utilize my considerable experience and background in computers, while learning additional skills and strategies that develop highly technical expertise to analyse business problems. The post-graduate certificate program of Information System Business Analysis at Northern College (Timmins)is a stimulating program that equips with the skills that are in huge demand in the global job market.
My interest for computers escalated with the passage of time and while pursuing my secondary education I also acquired thorough comprehensive training and certification of Competency in computing course from NIIT institute. Meanwhile, in order to quench the ever growing thirst of gaining knowledge about business related operations I obtained certification forTally.ERP9 from NIIT during my senior secondary education. This is where I felt the interdependence of technology and business for the first time. I earned my Bachelors’ degree in computer application at abc College in 2012 where I introduced to Computers and Information Technology, Data Structure & File Processing which inculcated the knowledge about how the single bit of information passes from the microcontrollers.Because of my deep–rooted interest in computers and my desire to make my career in this field I enrolled in Masters of computer application in 2012, I studied advance concept in technology like Embedded Systems, Network Security &Administration,E-Commerce and Java Programming.
I successfully completed my education achieving good grades with self-studies without any single reappear in my student life. I participated enthusiastically in debates, quizzes and other extracurricular activities in Inter-college competitions. While doing MCA I bagged First Prize in Computer quiz. I also received Certificate of Appreciation for best performance in academics in Senior Secondary. Participation in the national round of INDO –US ROBO League 2014 conducted by Technophilia Systems in association with Robotics and Computer application at IIT Bombay provided an opportunity to showcase my leadership skills where I assigned and managed different tasks to students of different streams, due to which our team at IIT Bombay scored the fifth position.
Therefore,after MCA in 2015, I decided to get some real-world experience. I secured a job with Apppop. At Appop,I worked as an iOS Developer where company wanted me to work on a new project comprising of Firebase which is a cloud-based application development framework to create high performing mobile appsspecifically for messaging. At my time of joining there was no method to do so. This piece of work helped me to attain a new recognition in the organization and more responsibility of training the interns who were doing their internships in mobile application development. Small scale organization provided numerous chances to me including direct interaction with clients for their technical needs and requirements for the apps which further helped in the acquaintance of client management skill after which I felt strongly that it is more important to receive a more business and Information system oriented experience rather than an entirely computer-based experience because modern businesses are heavily reliant on information systems. In 2017,after getting married, I started working as a Software trainer where I conducted formal training and developed functional specifications for use in mobile application development at Bghjh Technologies because I had prior experience of training the interns. Moreover, I knew that it will update my programming skills and methodologies as every time there will be a better way of coding with updated features.
While gaining education and experience, I have gained many technical and non-technical abilities which are highly valued by organization, from leadership to programming however, the rapid growth over the past years has thrust the Business Analyst and Information Technology Consultant, Informatics Consultant and Management Information Systems Analyst into increasingly prominent role throughout many sectors.Therefore,moving forth from now, I wish to procure expertise in the deployment of information technology solutions in business. Moreover, this program consists some subjects that I already studied during my course of study and as a developer I know the technological aspects which will help to meet the client’s business objectives, overcome problems or improve the structure and efficiency of their IT systems.
To realize my goal of becoming Information system business analyst, the post-graduate certificate program of Information System Business Analysis at Northern College (Timmins) is an excellent choice owing to its ineffaceable reputation, outstanding faculty which offersmore collaborative and interactive approach to classroom teaching, giving students more responsibility to research subject matter while faculty direct and guide the process. I am eager to explore this field in the presence of the esteemed professors. Most of the Professors at Northern college have been awarded Status of Professor Emeritusfor their high caliber of teaching because of that two Chinese professors attended customized teacher training program lead by Northern College faculty and administrators in 2018. After researching the program, I am well aware of the quality of education that is available which teach me the winning techniques of Business Process Development and System ethics also help me to develop a holistic perspective of businesses. Through Learning of Fundamentals of Programming (Java), Career Planning and Professional Skills, E-Business and E-Commerce Management, I would not merely learn about business analytics but also get the opportunity to practice it in a live scenario and be ready for my career goals.
Out of all countries in the world, Canada has a history of shaping thousands of foreign students by providing them conducive atmosphere for studies. More than 0.2 international million students opt to study in Canada each year which speaks for itself that they get all one needs to lead a happy professional life. Canadian institutions are considered to be best for their high academic standards. Despite the high educational standards, the living cost and tuition fees are comparatively affordable. Canada has a welcoming culture and people living in Canada are protected by diversity of freedom which has resulted in exceptionally stable and peaceful society with no rate of crime.
After the completion of my course, I intend to return to India and I will be well- positioned to get a suitable job in leading multinational Companies like Tata Consultancy services, IBM, Accenture, Deloitte, and Cognizant. I see myself working as an IT Business Analyst in one of the top companies listed above. At the end, my only long term goal is to be a successful and dynamic professional in the future who stands out amongst all. So far, I have been in India, and with my decision to study in Canada, right from the beginning to the end of my course, my family will bear all my expenses. Being Married, I have two members in my family, SDO retired father-in-law and insurer husband who is doing a government job in Bank as an Assistant manager. My father-in-law will be taken care by my husband. If accepted, I would contribute my determination, personality and motivation to every aspect of programand I therefore greatly appreciate your consideration of my application.
