Hi guys my wife was refused visa on 16 jan in new delhi in a interview stating that the marriage was small so I am still waiting for refusal letter can someone advice howmuch time it takes usually to get refusal letter after interview thanks.....so i can appeal please advice

I am sorry to hear your case. :(

Can you please highlight how many people attended the associated ceremony. Did u have engagement/wedding/reception?

I have another friend who had small wedding too without about 50 to 70 people. Was it the same for you or smaller?

Are you planning to appeal your case with additional support?

I received refusal letter 9 weeks after partners interview. You then have 30 days to appeal. I hope your not in Toronto as waiting times here is about 2 years unless you get an ADR

it was first marriage for both of us, only 30 people including parents from both side attended the wedding..........we also had an engagement

I'm so sorry to hear about what happened to you, rsmeet! Very strange...why would they use your wedding size against you?! Not all people can afford/want to have a big wedding, so it's weird that they refused you based on that alone?

Were there any other red flags? Such as a huge age difference? A really short courtship period? Lack of evidence of continued communications between the two of you?

You give them the avidence proofe like phone calling cards or internet chatting records or etc...

Did you send photos ? If so how many ?
what other proof did you send?

So we can help you figure this out.

you should appeal the decision and seek a lawyer now to handle the case.

It can take anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks from others I have talked to.

That sucks. Don't think you made a mistake by not hiring a lawyer. I really hope VOs are not making decisions based on stereotypes instead of facts.

Good luck with your appeal.
