A question just popped into my head.

Let's suppose two different cases over here.

I applied in early november 2010 for january 2011 session.

It took exact 8 weeks for a final decision to be made on my application from the date I sent my documents via a courier. I wasted 14 days(from the time I recieved my medical call) in just getting an appointment date with a designated doctor and other 25 days for my complete application with meds to be placed on visa officer's desk.

I also recived my medical call in 13 days from the time I sent my application via courier.

I applied again second time on feb 15. My meds are already done. I won't be wasting 13+14+10=37 days. (i.e 10 days from delhi to islamabad, medical report reaching time)

if I minus 37 days from 60 days, my application should have been processed in 23 days. However, 42 days have been already.

This is case A:

Case B:

A person who files a fresh application first time, he or she will go through all process again which takes 8 weeks atleast.

My question is, taking all these permutations into consideration, when should I expect my final decision? Whose case will be proccessed more quickly?

Any feedback.

Like it or not, comparing times is not a great way to proceed.

Every case is different and times vary.
Activity and workload at the visa office level and individual VO level also add to the confusion.

There is no guaranteed correct answer based on all these factors.
The real answer is only available after one application is complete.

However, it is clearly mentioned on instructions forms that doing meds will expediate your visa processing time. You are right like there are no hard and fast rules.

they will simply not issue anyone visa going for may semester. more than 20 days before classes.
so holdon . u will get it .

There are so many things that can have an impact on processing time.
The best option is to use liberal amounts of patience and get on with other things while the processing happens.

.......... it is a lot of fun to share my thoughts with you guys.
Likewise.

As many others have said, watching the process too much will drive you mad.

Is it a fact or just an assumption that a person won't get VISA is classes are not due with in 20 days? Like, my classes are scheduled to start in September, I'll be applying in April, so I should prepare myself that I might not be getting VISA any where before August.. it will be around 10 - 16 August than???

No need to do complicated calculations. I think you are due for receiving a word from CHC and so am I. You have to give it at least 9 full weeks before starting to get worried but I guess its natural when you are waiting for something blindly. I don't believe in 20 day period before the start of classes. This is just made up by some people here as there is no evidence as such to prove it other than looking at peoples timelines and taking a guess. I think as long as the you dont apply way too early before your classes, you should get a decision within 9 weeks.

Your explanation sounds plausible. CHC should give enough time like one month for preparation and acclimatization. I meAn my 9 weeks will be completed on April 23. Classes will kick off from may 5. You see , how much time is left for preparation. I guess as long as decision is positive applicants won't have a issue with it. Let's wAit.

Right, they should have a common sense to issue the visa at least a couple of weeks in advance. Yes, you do need time for preperation and would need to purchase a flight ticket well in advance. According to CiC 9 weeks is the maximum time period but in many cases decision is made before 9 weeks. I am hoping we will get a good news very soon Inshallah, hopefully within this week.

HI guys

Baloo's right here, no one can estimate dates or timelines under general category. It depends from case to case.

However under SPP students are getting their decisions within a few days

that's just how it is , it can't be changed

but in my opinion students that already have their file numbers created they should be processed faster rather than being queued .
