Hi all,
I have been going through various Visa Office Specific forms to see how they compare and came across something wired! In case of Tokyo, Japan, under the Federal Skilled Worker (F) column in the checklist, there exists NO box for Settlement Funds! There is only the box for quebec (Q)!Does it mean applicants applying to Tokyo Visa Office under FSW class DO NOT need to send proof of funds? Or it can be a mistake? Any comments from people applying from Japan? I am green with envy!!

ha ha it looks true.

ha ha it looks true.
Rupeshhari, can you think of a possible reason? Have you heard of such a thing elsewhere? I tought maybe the Japanese are rich by definition! so they do not need to prove anything!

perhaps, it is to encourage japanese immigration. never heard of it. Perhaps such rules might have been introduce for residents of hong kong but why take out that requirement because if someone is rich, they can show it easily.

Its a misprint.

PMM

Its a misprint.

PMM, I also thought so as proof of funds is a requirement independent of Visa Office. My search shows that Tokyo visa office has just started to process immigration files (December 1st 2008) so they might have made a mistake in the form. Prior to that date, applicants from Japan had to send applications to Manila, Phillipines. The Manila office form asks for proof of funds.

Nice to have hope it was true but the reality is that whether it is on the checklist or not you cannot escape proof of funds.

From the IMM EG7000 (06-2010) document Page 14

The Government of Canada does not provide financial support to new skilled worker immigrants.
You must show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family members after you arrive in Canada. The money must be available to support the costs of living for yourself and your family. The amount is an estimate of what you would require to support yourself and your family without employment or other income. You cannot borrow this money from another person.
