I have been asked by my Canada based consultant to send the Passports to London Canadian High Commision for stamping. My current nature of work forces me to a lot of travelling. I understand that once I send the passports, it will take 6 weeks for the return. I cannot tell my current employer the reason. Option is that Visa is issued from Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi is very near to my residence and it will be much faster to get the passports from there. (I can even authorise someone to collect it in person from there). Will London Authorities allow this ?

No.
Pps must go to the case processing VO [CHC-London in your case].

Qorax

They allow authorized person to collect the passports after stamping from the High Commission. Can the same person even deposit the passport on our behalf ? What I mean is that in London, passports can be deposited for Visa stamping on Thursday and can be collected back after 15 days (2nd Thursday). Question is can I courier the passports to my relative in London with Authorisation so that she can deposit and collect the passports after stamp on my behalf ? In that case, I need not travel to London for the same.

Yes, u can.
It's also mentioned in your PPR [letter] -- read that!

I read the clause mentioned in the letter sent to me. It does not state (or atleast does not make it clear) whether someone can deposit as well on my behalf. What it states is as follows -

Our in-person service to submit and pick up passports is open on Thursdays between 2 pm and 3 pm at 38
Grosvenor Street, London, UK. You may submit your package in person at this time. You will be given a receipt
acknowledging that we have received it. You must show this receipt to collect your passport(s) and visa(s).
Because we require two weeks to issue your visa(s), you may only collect your passport(s) on the second Thursday
after you submit your package.
This service will not operate when the High Commission is closed. Our website shows our holiday closures (these
may differ from UK bank holidays). If Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve falls on a Thursday, then this service will
also be closed on that day, even if the High Commission remains open.
If you would like someone else to collect your passport(s) and visa(s), that person must present:
the receipt that was issued to you,
a signed letter from you authorizing them to collect your passport(s), and
one piece of government-issued identification that includes their name and photograph.

Mine had it both ways...

Sorry for bothering you. I was reading between the lines and observe that what they state is that after 15 days, passports can be collected and it would take another 15 days for Visa Issuance. I thought that they would stamp the visa on the passports itself and return back after 15 days. So, does it mean that, visa can be collected from the same office after another 15 days ? If yes, at that stage do we need to show the passports to collect the visa ? Are visas in some sort of a A4 page ?

Grouvvy, Visa is a sticker which is pasted on one of the pages of your passport, the lines in the letter mentions that they will return the passport with the Visa in 15 days to you, so if you submit the passport on 1st Thursday of month then the CHC will return the Passport with the Visa Sticker on it on 3rd Thursday.

I hope that clears everything, if you have any further questions feel free to ask in the forum and I am sure you will get prompt reply.

Thanks for the clarification

1. Visa/s r "stamped" in the pps.
2. Alongwith that 'stamped' pp we also get the COPR [an A4 sized document]
3. We get all of these as one package - after 2nd week* [of depositing the pps].
4. There's nothing called 'another 15 days' !

*It's advisable to visit the CHC in 8-10 days, 'coz many a times the PRVs r already stamped by then.
