Visa for pregnant Common law spouse

Hi All,

I hope you can assist me with some information as myself & my partner are finding information difficult to get.

Our situation is:
I (35 years old) have been offered a position to work In Canada (Ontario) and I am currently applying, and have been accepted to apply for Young professionals Visa.

I believe this Visa does not support dependents.

My common law partner ( 32 years old) is 18 weeks pregnant and we obviously wish for her to be in Canada. Her due date is the 1st week of November 2018


We intend to travel to Canada in August 2018 where we will set up home and I will start working.


Can you advise what the best options to apply for Visas for either:

A) Myself alone ( Currently I have 9 days left to start my application)

B) My partner alone

C) As a family and her as my dependent


We are finding the information difficult to come by and we are running out of time with my application so I wish to ensure I am on the correct Visa to support my family.


We are not looking for any support from Canadian system and my salary is enough to cover my dependents. We are both currently EP holders , living & working In Singapore and we are available to have a meeting in the Canadian Embassy in Singapore if required or if that option is available.

We would be really grateful if anybody could direct us in the right path.

To add to this, we are wondering should she just apply on her own for a working holiday visa, and then when the baby arrives, she can apply for an alternative Visa.

We are both very much aware that we , as parents, still have no rights to live in Canada thereafter, nor are we looking to do so at the moment. And we are fully aware that we will be paying for the baby to be delivered, all hospital costs. So there is no obligation on anybody providing anything for us.
