Dear People
I am a citizen and resident of Pakistan. I have got a post-doctoral fellowship offer in a Canadian university. With a family of four (spouse and two sons of 6 and 3 years), we are ready to apply for a foreign worker visa for me as a primary applicant, open work permit for my spouse, and a tourist visa of more than 6 months for my sons.
Since I have to join the university in Canada by June, we already have done our upfront medical exam in order to shorten the visa processing time and are going to apply for visa from Pakistan by 10 Feb. We are hoping to get visa in time i.e. before June.
THE PROBLEM: We are expecting our 3rd baby, which is due in mid-May. The query is: WHEN should we apply for the infant's visitor visa ?
Option 1: After we 4 get our Canadian visa (hopefully by May), Should we apply separately for the visitor visa for the newborn? How much processing time will it take to get the visa if we apply along with the passport and the upfront medical exam of the infant?
Option 2: Should we all apply for the whole family AFTER the birth of a newborn i.e. by the start of June? We fear that our visas will get delayed due to the processing time and i won't be able to join the university by mid-June. I may lose the opportunity in this case.
Option 3: We 4 apply for Canadian visas by 10 Feb, and if our visas are not granted by June, add my newborn to the application through Webform?
I will be grateful for any help and guidance in this regard.
Thankyou in advance. Looking forward
