Visa Extension

Is it possible to extend a visitor Visa. Im from the Uk and my visitor visa comes to an end on Jan 23rd. i am looking to apply for the IEC program however i didnt no it would only open mid Jan and takes 8 weeks to process. Is it possible i could extend my visitor visa for another 6 months? i have the funds to do so but what reason i best to give?

You might be able to extend your status - check this link:

Until a decision is made, you would be under "implied status", that is the same as your original status.

btw - are you in Canada with an actual visa, or - since you are from a visa exempt country - are you a temporary visitor without a visa? In the latter case, you are probably admitted for 6months (since the last entry stamp, unless they have indicated a apecific date). If that is the case, you could also try your luck by crossing the border into the US, and hope, that you will get a new stamp upon your return.

Hi, did you got any answer? I have the same kind of situation and im looking for what reason i should say in my application to extend stay so I can apply for common law in a few months, any help will be appreciated.
