Hi there,

I finished my post graduate studies in Canada and received my PGWP till 2024. However I need to extend my VISA.
I have already applied for that and it is under process.

Right now I'm inside Canada, but due to the long processing time, I was wondering if it's possible for me to leave Canada to visit my family and wait for my Visa there?

I am not changing my residence address, and am going just for a vacation. Do I have to inform CIC about that?
If I get my new VISA, can I pick it up from an embassy of Canada in Turkey?

Will it be a great risk for me to get rejected because of this trip?

Thanks

Did you apply for an extension or a new TRV? You need to apply for a new TRV. An extension only allows you to remain in Canada. It does not give you the ability to leave and then re-enter Canada. Can you clarify what you applied for?

Yes, scylla, I applied for TRV, and it's under process. However it may take a long time ( presumably up to about 5 months).
I know that if I leave Canada I won't be able to get back inside without a VISA, and I have to wait for that.

I have applied for TRV and it's under process, now my question is if I leave Canada for a vacation and get my VISA during that time,
1- Is that to risky? will there be a chance of getting rejected because I left the country?

2- If the VISA is issued, how should I grab my VISA?
Can I pick it up from an embassy? What's the process for that? Do I need to inform CIC with a webform or something about my situation?

1. It won't be rejected. But you might be waiting a very long time.
2. You would submit your passport to the visa office in the country where you are staying.

Thanks for the reply,
By "very long time", do you mean much longer than 5 months (which is the estimated time for inside Canada?)

Yes, there are many who have been waiting longer.

Thanks scylla. Do I need to inform CIC about my vacation trip to outside Canada?

At some point you'll need to notify them since visa stamping will take place outside of the country. I don't know when. This topic is discussed in a number of existing threads. You might want to do some reading through other discussions.
