Hi,

I have received a letter from Ottawa-CPP asking for payment of right of permanent residence fee and submit my passport. I applied under Ontario nominee program in July 2012. My problem is i already buy a ticket to go back home to attend my bro's wedding on March 04 and i am worried that if i submit my passport now they will keep the passport and i will struck here. Does any one know how long it take for Ottawa-CPP to stamp the PR visa?? after submitting the passport....

Please can some one just share any experience how many days CPP-Ottawa take on average time to stamp PR visa.....I will be grateful....

Thank you and have a nice weekend!

Hi,

My visa office isn't Ottawa but I have spoken to a few people on this forum who has Ottawa as visa office. I think they have only just started issuing visas about 2-3 weeks ago. So it would be hard for anyone to say how long they take. Usually in other visa offices around the world visa issuing is generally between 2-4 weeks depending on the case. Did they tell you when you have to submit the passport by?

You can try emailing and explain the situation, they may offer you to submit passport when you return to Canada from your brother's marriage as long as your medical isn't expiring soon.

Hi monpreet,

Thank you!! so much for the reply. Yes i already send an email explaining my situation but no reply yet from them. So i send my passport yesterday along with my ticket and an explanation letter requesting urgently return my passport once issue the PR visa. It was suggested by CIC call center agent i write them a letter and attach my passport. Any way lets see what happens. Yes i think you are right. Ottawa-CPP recently become fully operational. I live in Ottawa but unfortunately they dont allow any visitor. I am hoping it will work out other wise i will cancel my trip.....and yes they ask me to send passport asap without any delay saying issuing my visa can not be delayed and there will be specific deadline on the pr visa and i have to obtain pr status before the dead line...they also mention if i dont response in 60 days they will cancel my PR application....so i send them the passport and other requested documents....

my friend got ppr request 3 weeks ago ago from Ottawa. I remember he sent passport on same day and he is still waiting.

Did your friend received the passport back now?

Hey Mron!
I am in the exact situation where I have booked a trip, which is in 34 days, and I got a request for my passport yesterday. Is there a way to speed up a passport return? Did you work out your case?
Any information would be helpful.
Thanks.
