Verification of Medical credentials.

Hello all,

I have graduated with MBBS (Medical school) from India and am certified by ECFMG in the US. Is there a way that ECFMG can send my credentials to Medical Council of Canada? Or do I have to send my medical diploma to MCC and they would then get my documents verified by ECFMG?
I am a bit confused about the process. Please help me if anyone was/is in similar situation.

they would do it on their own , i guess you cannot by pass the normal procedure , you can try phoning them and ask them if its possible .

i am really not an expert at this but i think you would have to get your credentials verified even before you create a profile , reason being you could get an ITA the next day who knows and then it would be a misrepresentation if you do it after .i could be wrong wait for others to reply

I called MCC to ask how my credentials verified by ECFMG can be used for ECA verification. They asked me to create a profile in physiansapply.ca and fill in my ECFMG ID there.

Now when I was updating my profile, I saw a column for EICS number.

Does anyone know what's that about? Do I need to apply for EICS to get the source verification transfered from ECFMG to MCC?

Answering my own question. EICS no is issued by MCI itself. One does not need to do anything about it. Just update your ECFMG ID number in the profile (If you have one) and when MCC sends your docs to ECFMG they will compare your full name and ECFMG number with your ECFMG account and release the verification information within 10 days

My MCC timeline:

MCC received docs: Mar 10 2017
Docs reviewed and accepted: Mar 22 2017
Sent to ECFMG for source verification: Mar 22 2017
Source verified: Mar 27 2017
Requested for ECA: Mar 27 2017
ECA request received: Mar 30 2017
ECA available to view online: Apr 11 2017
