Hi,

I've filed my application when the Police certificates were 1 month old.
2 weeks passed but no AOR yet...
What happens if their processing time goes beyond the point when police certificates become 3 month old?
Is it onsidered their fault and I dont need to re-get new certificates?

thanks!

The police certificates cannot be older than three months at the time they are submitted. My understanding is that, if they were only one month old when you sent them in, you should be fine.

It's medicals that are good for one year.

At the time CIC receives your application the Certificates cannot be more than 90 days old, but they are valid for one year. You are fine. Good luck with your application.

Thanks! I just wonder from what time those 90 days counted. From my FedEx delivered time stamp.. or from AOR...

The 90 day window is from the issue date printed on the Certificate to the date CIC receives your application.

I didn't know about this 3 month validity until after we submitted our app. My husband's NBI (like FBI in the US) is 3.5 month old. I don't have any idea how they will respond to this. Any idea?

They will almost certainly ask for new one. You should probably be proactive and obtain a new one and send it to them. But only send it after Stage 1 approval and the file has been sent to the VO. That way you will have a file/case number to refer to and it's more likely to get matched up correctly with your file.

if by some chance, they expire, it doesn't matter whose fault it is, whether there was delay on their end or not, it will ALWAYS be on you to redo it. unfortunately, that is how they work. so hope that it doesn't expire, but if it's getting close to expiration, and you are still waiting and have no sign of PPR, then redo it and send it to them.

You're fine mine was almost 3 months old (about to expire) when I sent application and thankfully they didn't ask for another one .

Thanks! :) As long as they don't send back the whole package I'd still be sane. Hoping to finish Stage 1 soon.
