What do u think when will VACs open in India? I think they are not going to open till december. I am very frustrated!

They’ll mostly open in November since the winter intake students don’t have two stage processing and will require biometrics to start processing their visa, and before that they would still need to process fall intake students.

Just some logic. However logic doesn’t always work with VFS

I think they will not open fully; they might introduce an invitation-based system where they prioritise those who applied early, have DLI on list. Still, unfortunately, very little work might be done because holiday season starts in December and looking at their pace of work, new applicants will have to wait for months more.

I believe the decision will be made on the first week of November regarding the VAC opening. There is no way they are going to keep it closed for the month of November as well.

They need to tell at least 1-2 weeks in advance. They are not going to pop up saying vacs are opening tommorow everyone run and crowd them.

What's even more frustrating is that we can do nothing but stay at home and wait for an update. Here we are transferring 20 odd lakhs into overseas account with no guarantee of an approval.
People tell that it's a blessing in disguise that I don't need to pay for rent. Who'll pay the interest for the loan ?
it's high time students make some noise (though they're deaf). I would've applied under NON-SDS instead and saved my parents a lot of money and peace of mind

I totally understand the financial angle. And I don't really care when some people say that we are saving on accommodation. The thing is we're not investing money just to get abroad education (at least not me), we're investing for the overall experience. I understand we are in middle of pandemic. But at least facilitate the applications in a reasonable manner, especially since Canadian government itself has exempted us. I have been studying in Canada since Fall 2016. Currently, I am doing an internship at a Canadian company remotely from India and losing FAR more money than what I am saving on accommodation.

I mean you could have skipped GIC and paying upfront tuition fee to be on the safer side and apply under non-sds. I believe most of the folks down here have applied under non-sds. In fact now a days, applying under sds is no longer helping, the processing times have become a joke.

Paying hefty fees through a loan and allowing the interest to accumulate wouldn't be the best thing to do according to me, especially during such a pandemic/uncertain times.

I hear you, man! I totally agree with you on this. International students pay that hefty amount to get the overall exposure, I mean one could maybe do those udamy courses online which are recorded by professors that too for free yet get similar exposure compared to the "remote learning". Just a personal thought.

How would you show proof of funds then? Not everyone here is fortunate enough to produce financial documents that show they can afford their higher education.

They have not posted anything in twitter yet even if it is November 1. I think they are planning on some good news. It is just a speculation since usually they update on vfs at the end of the month and it passed that day.
