Dear all
My child is a year old and a US citizen and my wife and I are both PR card holders. We are planning to move to Toronto area in the next few months, and were wondering about insurance for our little one. My child will need vaccinations in the second year. We plan to buy insurance, but are not sure about vaccinations if they will be covered by insurance. Has anyone gone through a situation like this recently.?

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Your baby needs more than vaccinations they need well baby check-ups at the same time or at least quick growth checks at the same time. If you call any GP they can do both. When booking would make sure to remind them that you are cash paying and including vaccination. There used to be vaccination clinics done by public health but the public health nurses are likely involved in covid now. I would also minimize how many clinics a child visits because your child still need their well baby checks. Vaccinations aren’t that expensive.

Thanks for your quick response. Would doctor visits Not be covered by insurance? Also didn’t quite get your last suggestion “minimize how many clinics a child visits”...
