Vacation period during study in canada

Hello, can anyone please tell me that how much vacation period is there to work full time in canada during a year.
If we have to study 2 semesters of 4 month each i.e. 8 months in a year, what we have to do in other 4 months???
Can we work full time or return home country during this extra 4 months period?

Please answer fast!!!

You can work full time on the 4 months of vacation or you can also go home if you like.
