Use of a representative

Hi guys,

So I am going to submit my PR application. I did consult some ICRC consultants regarding my application, and will ask one of them to help me prepare my application.

But the thing is that I don't want them to represent me and do the application ON MY BEHALF, all the emails will be sent to me and CIC will contact me directly.

So in this case, should I fill out the Use of a representative form? It says "that person may conduct business on your behalf with CIC by filling out this form", but I don't want anyone to represent me and conduct business on my behalf. I do not want to authorize CIC to release my info to anyone else but me.

I just want to ask them to help me prepare my application, like to help me check if I have all the necessary forms or not, if all the forms are filled out correctly or not.

So, what shall I do, to fill out the form or not? Thank you very much for your help.

Don't fill it out. The form isn't for CIC asking you if you had help, it's just purely so they are authorised to share information about your process with a third party. By not filling out the form you are still allowed to seek advice and get others to check your file, but you are 100% personally responsible for the information you submit. Make sure you fully understand everything that you're sending, and don't let anyone else complete any sections on your behalf.
