Hello,

I am trying to apply for the Canadian PR. Unfortunately, 2 years ago I was given a Reckless Driving ticket (Virginia Code 46.2-862) for driving 86 MPH in a 70 MPH zone. The officer just gave me a ticket and let me go. No arrest. No finger printing. Since, this was my first ever traffic ticket, the charges were reduced to 79 MPH in a 70 MPH zone. My attorney plead NOT GUILTY to this lowered charge, but I was found guilty of 79 MPH in 70 MPH.

I looked at the equivalent Canadian Criminal Code and seems like it is just a regular traffic violation as I did not go 40 KMPH over the speed limit.

I am trying to verify whether I am inadmissible, or can I proceed with my application?

Thank you.

Don't worry about it. Its not a criminal offense. Since you must have paid the fine and the court cleared you, so its fine.
