Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi all,

I decided to apply for the certificate without having an ITA yet because it seems to take impossibly long to get one. If I apply after i get ITA it will not come in time for the rest of the docs..

So I checked in the website and some forums as well. The information in many is old I guess but it says that there should be a cover letter sent along with the finger prints form.

Where do you get this cover letter form from? It was not available in the FBI website?

Also, I got the credit card payment form - I can see I can include my names as an aplicant and the names of the card holder. But it has to contain also the bank account number where the money should be transffered and this is another thing I cannot find.
There is a field in the application asking for social security number. What do you write in it if you don't have one? I used to have one when I was in the states (7-8 years ago I went to two student work and travel programmes) but it is impossible for me to find this..

Hope you can give me a hint.

thanks!

Oh, I forgot .. should the forms be filled by hand or on the computer before printing?

Hi Anna,

Not sure about your other questions as I got done my process through an agent. But for SSN - just leave that blank. It's not mandatory. I got done mine without it this year so don't worry even if you have it.

Note: you can double check on FBI's website in case they have changed any rules regarding SSN recently. Hope it helps.

The cover letter was an old requirement; it's not listed as such on the FBI site anymore. Nevertheless, you can enclose such a letter if you want - just explain in it briefly why you are sending them the documents, what you need, and that you need the police certificate for the purpose of immigrating to Canada.

You don't need a bank account number for the payment form. The FBI only needs the details of the credit card - number, expiry date, billing address, etc. - they will use them to withdraw the money and they don't need anything else.

You don't need an SSN if you don't have one - just leave the field blank.

And btw, make sure that you actually need to submit a PCC for the U.S. - if both of your stays in the country were shorter than 6 months each, you don't have to submit a PCC.

I have done on a computer printed off. It was accepted, but mind you - it takes 12+ weeks to get it, if you are not US citizen or Perm. resident.

Hi, both of my stays were below 6 months each and I was not even thinking of getting that.
However, a friend of mine who was there the same periods applied, got the ITA and then she was asked for this as well. This is why I decided to be on the safe side and get one.

Hey ,

I am about to send the print cards to FBI today or tomorrow.
So what I was given - 2 print cards with my names on them, signature, stamp and signature of the person who took them and name and stamp of the institution (ministry of foreign , Institute of Forensic Science and Criminology).
Then there is another piece of paper with my names on it, info, ID number - it is a simple printed piece of paper (not on a letterhead paper) with the same stamps like the print cards. Only it is not in english.

Any idea if I need to send this? I think that I only need to send the 2 print cards but not sure...
