US Visit Visa

Hi all,

Firstly, I'm sorry if this post is not appropriate for this forum. I just thought someone could shed some light on this topic.

I migrated to Canada 5 months back from the US, before that i used to study, work and live in the US since Aug 2002. Now i want to visit my friends and family who still live in the US so i need to apply for a Visit Visa. So these are my questions,

1) What has been your experience getting a Visit visa from Canada? Specifically Calgary consulate
2) Did u get the visa same day as the interview? or did u have to wait?
3) If not same day, will they mail it to you?

Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated. I am planning on visiting my brother in February or so..Just wanted to get the visa thingy done.

What is your citizenship? Do you hold any immigrant status in the US? Are you just in Canada as a visitor?

India, No status in US..i was on student visa and then work visa once i graduated and got a Job. I am not a visitor in Canada, I'm a Permanent resident.
