Hi,

I understand that i might require more than 1 year of US Visa validity for me to apply for Canadian Immigration from US

I live in US and my US visa expires by June 2009 but I 94 is valid for next two and half years.

Can I still apply for Canadian Immigration under Skilled Professional class? Any response on this is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If your original visa was valid for 1 years or more, you can apply through Buffalo, doesn't matter how much is left of it. However.. if you are looking into a skilled worker application, you might want to know that this program is a bit up in the air right now as it has been announced that all applications filed February 27 this year and later are being processed under new rules involving 38 choice professions that haven't been listed yet and maybe some details we don't know about yet. We are supposed to hear about this in November sometime.

Yes, if he wants to live in AB and it's a H-1B, H1-B1, H-1C or E-3 visa he can go here: http://www.albertacanada.com/immigration/campaigns/h1b.html

I am on L1 visa.

Can I still apply for canadian immigration which the visa expires less than one year and with I 94 valid more than 2 and half years?

Any response to this greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You can still apply for skilled class but like I said, they are changing the rules for it and nobody really knows what will happen. If it was me, I would wait the couple of months for new rules before spending the time and money on this application. You can in the meantime look around for job offers and see if you can get in on a temporary work permit. If you do, it will be easy for you to apply for PR later.
