Hi,

I want to know how easy for Canada PR to get US visa compared to applying for US without Canadian PR ,so in short do we gain anything when applying for US visa as a Canadian PR.

Regards,

Regards,

I had obtained my US Visa when I was not a PR, and my wife did it when we became a PR last month. In my opinion and experience, it was much easier the second time around. It could be that a spouse had a US visa , but not that many questions were asked during her interview.

The process is simpler because you have already immigrated, chances for you to want to illegally immigrate to the US are slim.

This totally depends on your passport, luck and the visa officer.

I've been in Canada since 2006 (will be PR soon). Applied for US visa but got it after 9 months. My friends who has been PR for few years (and US/UK visa holder for most of his life) applied for US visa renewal and it took him 7 months - his family got it right away. My other friend who was not a PR got it in 3 days. This really varies with lot of factors. All you can do is make sure that your documents are complete. Rest is all up-to the system. There is no hard equation, and lot of control is given to the visa officer at the embassy to make a call. They won't reject your visa but it may take time.
